I am a clinical oncology social worker and the Behar Endowed Associate Professor in Psychosocial Oncology (with tenure) in the University of Washington School of Social Work, where I serve as the Director of Interdisciplinary Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care Research (IPOPC). My research attends to evidence-based practice, psychosocial oncology, integrated health and mental health, and social determinants of (youth) health. I teach both MSW and PhD level courses, e.g., MSW level: Mental Health Disorders in Adulthood; The Art and Science of Clinical Social Work; Clinical Social Work Assessment, and PhD level: Introduction to Statistics in Social Sciences I & II; Applied Structural Modeling; Meta-Analysis. As a trained clinician, I have over 5 years of clinical experience as a therapist supporting clients with comorbid physical and mental health challenges across healthcare settings. I have clinical expertise in solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and I am certified by the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (ACBT) and the Board of Oncology Social Work Certification (OSW-C)
